Add support / guide for LibreCAD?

Hi,

I've recently started using a free software 2D cad program called LibreCAD (http://librecad.org), and it's supported on Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux.

Would it be possible for you to add support / add a guide for this in the 2D design section?

Thanks,

Darcy.

Hi Darcy!

We've had a look at LibreCAD - the main catch at this stage is that it is unable to export/save as SVG or EPS - we're working on being able to accept DXF files instead, but it's not possible just yet. Once it is, we can certainly revisit this as a formally supported software package.

Cheers!

do you know a way to convert DXF's to SVG/EPS?

I'm having a heck of time figuring out how to do this.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for having a look at this for me!

If it makes any difference, it's actually already possible to export to SVG in the newer version of LibreCAD (Version 2.0 Alpha 3), which despite the alpha label, seems to work quite well for me (I'm assuming you tried the current version, V 1.0.2). The only other problem I've come across is that there is currently no option to draw lines with a width of less than 0.05 mm, however this is scheduled to be fixed soon I believe (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3530063&gro...).

Kurosh: Try version 2.0.0 Alpha3, then File -> Export, and select SVG.

Hi Darcy!

Thanks for following up on this, and suggesting the use of version 2.0.0 Alpha3. Please keep us posted as you become aware of more changes, and we look forward to revisiting LibreCAD as an option to officially support.

Cheers!
Josh
